Our First Six Months…

“Amazing!” 

This was Rubie Downe’s immediate reaction when asked how her first month at Mint Property Finance had gone. A compelling recommendation for any future candidates considering Mint for their next move in the world of specialist property finance, and testament to the strong sense of family values at this long-established lender.

This was a sentiment shared by Hina Shakir, who commented: “My highlight has been getting to work with such a lovely group of people. Everyone looks out for each other.”

Rubie and Hina joined Mint as Case Manager and Underwriter respectively, and have been progressing the increasing volume and value of cases over the course of the last four weeks. Both have successfully had their first completions, with an urgent auction purchase completing in just seven working days for Rubie, and an office-to-residential conversion getting Hina out of the blocks.

Rubie and Hina have been required to hit the ground running, although both referenced the extensive guidance they’ve received from knowledgeable colleagues, with Hina commenting: “The support I’ve received from my colleagues is incomparable. They are always ready to help no matter who I approach, and regardless of how busy they are. I’m really enjoying my time here, and love that I get to learn something new every day.”

Looking forward, Rubie and Hina are excited about furthering their learning. Rubie is keen to embrace Mint’s common-sense approach to lending in which we ensure the product is shaped about each and every borrower’s unique needs and requirements, rather than simply viewing lending as a ‘tick-box’ exercise. Whereas Hina is keen to learn more about the complexities of development, and how she can help borrowers achieve their property ambitions.
